Heart health is very important to us here at Bean Styled Studio and most American’s do not get the recommend dose of essential Omega’s in our bodies. They do come from plants and animals. Our bodies need healthy fats not saturated fat for many reasons that is why omega is essential. Essential as in we have to have it! However certain omegas can only be made in the body when we eat a healthy diet. Usually consisting of fish and seafood for the most potent in omegas. Having a good balance of omega in our system has been shown to help with cardiovascular health. According to the American Heart Association “Research has shown that omega-3 fatty acids decrease risk of arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats), which can lead to sudden death. Omega-3 fatty acids also decrease triglyceride levels, slow growth rate of atherosclerotic plaque, and lower blood pressure (slightly).”
After many years of taking a regular Fish Oil and hearing about Krill oil I have taken the time to research the difference between the two. Not to extensively, but enough to say that maybe we should switch to taking the Krill and leaving the Fish oil out to sea.
A recent trip to the Vitamin Shoppe I acquired the Amazing Wellness Fall 2015 Issue at checkout. Which they are FREE by the way and most times I decline. I really enjoyed their magazine and recommend others picking it up and taking a read. It had a Krill article and this is what set me off to take a look into using Krill:
- More Potent with omegas 3’s
- No fish burps or After taste of fish
- Red color of the krill oil pills= Astaxanthin- antioxidant fives red color and prevents oxidation so stays fresh longer. Also boost immunity and overall cell healthy by helping fight free radicals in the body.
- Sustainable and Safe- Krill is the largest Bio mass on the planet. Less than 1% of krill are harvested.
- So low on the food chain and harvested in the pristine Antarctic waters which has far less risk of contamination of mercury or any other toxins found in the fish oil. An you hear all the time Mercury levels in Salmon.
Journal of the American College of Nutrition said it “reduced inflammation and lessen pain and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis.”
So to wipe out any contamination you may receive from taking Fish oils, rid any after taste, and to have more potent Omegas especially the omega-3’s take a look into Krill oil. Ask your doctor their recommendations. It seems that the Krill and their powerful omegas are the way to go. Still the best way is a healthy lifestyle of fish and seafood. If your not one to like those types of food, an omega supplement should be a consideration. The MegaRed brand has great reviews. I had no side effects. I was never one to have the fishy taste or burps and still none with this brand for myself so I can’t test that fact for some. You still want a reputable brand so we suggest checking out MegaRed Krill Oil for yourself.
